The Success Paradox

Leaders are in smaller numbers than workers. People of culture are in smaller numbers than others. Geniuses are in smaller numbers than ordinary people.

This means that elite people are in smaller numbers than mediocre people.

Success comes when everybody likes your work.

Success is proportional with the number of people that like your work, this means that you have to convince mediocre people to like it because they are in much bigger numbers.

Then, success is mediocre ?!

Music and Style

I recently had an argue with a friend about music. He said that there is no way that music influence people. I said that music influence people very much. I hope my friend reads the article.(image embedded from

First of all let’s see the etymology of the word music. It seems that the word comes from the latin musica. The greeks used mousike techne to describe the art of Muses. So, it seems that the word has it’s roots closely bound to the ancient muses.

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.

Musical innovation is full of danger to the State, for when modes of music change, the laws of the State always change with them.

And because an image worth a thousand words, I’ll let the images speak for themselves in this article, images with the way people look depending on the style of music they play or listen to.

Facebook Statements

Today I’ve watched “Social network”. WOW, now that was a cool movie! I was just eyes and ears till the end with the level of excitement over most other movies.

Mark Zuckerberg really is a genius. This if he realized from the beginning what was the potential of such a social network. If not, he’s just a lucky man. I would say a lucky and very strong man. Why strong? Well, because facebook is evaluated to worth about 84 billion dollars and, what really makes him strong, are people. He has on his computer personal data about over 750 million people.

Motives to register.

To be in trend with your friends. Boredom. Because you want to keep in touch with your foreign friends. Get a girlfriend/boyfriend. Socialize.

This doesn’t sound very bad. Actually it’s cool, you can keep in touch with people anytime you want. If you want to see what is your friend from other country doing at this moment you can just check his photos and statuses. But I can’t agree with the last motive: to socialize on facebook. In my opinion virtual socialization is an ugly mutation of real socialization.

Motives not to register.

It’s addictive. Waste of precious time. There is something fishy with the privacy.

Now think about how much time you waste on facebook. Now think about the free time that you would have if you didn’t use facebook. What to do with this free time? Well, real socialization. Let’s say that I post every day my realizations on the wall and interact with friends by giving likes and comments to their activity. Till here everything is OK, but what about this lifestyle? Everything is registered, and don’t tell me that “the creators” don’t have access to anything of this information. The thing is that we are talking about a really high level company, the best in the world for social networking, here come in the equation companies or governmental organisms that might be interested in your information. I wouldn’t make this affirmation if this video doesn’t exist:

Is CIA and “the creators” the only ones that access facebook’s databases to monitor (!) people’s activities? Well, it’s hard to say. This is getting more weirder with Zuckerberg’s answer about facebook’s privacy:

Let’s say that you have in the friends list your high school mates and your colleagues from work, including the boss. One of your high school mate posts a picture of you semi nude and drunk and then tags you. Now that’s privacy!

I still don’t understand why I can’t modify my facebook name.

Why facebook needs two weeks to delete your account?

How to Change your Facebook Name

Hi everybody!

Have you ever tried to change your Facebook name? Well, I did, and I’ve had the biggest surprise that gave me creeps! OK, let’s see what happened.

First of all you have to go to Account —> Account Settings and then go for editing your Name. Write other name and you will most likely get this:

This, I think, is not very clever. How does the “automated approval system” know if she gets married, fore example? or just changes the name because she/he doesn’t like it?  or maybe the name was fake and now needs to be corrected? and so on …

What can be done?

Now, let’s change the name!

Step 1: Take several minutes to think about changing your name, well, because you can also change it with any name 😀 . Example: Marcus Horse.

Step 2: Open your favorite mail provider site and create a new account with the ID as much as possible like the new name. Example:, marcus_horse, horsemarcus and so on…

Step 3: Go again to Account —> Account Settings and go for editing your Email. Click the Add another email link and add the new email in the field that opens. To validate the new email address you have to confirm by clicking the link sent by facebook to your new email address and which asks you if you are sure.

Step 4: Go again to Account —> Account Settings and edit again the Email (unless you already are there; by clicking the confirmation link it will get you there). Select the new email address and save the changes.

Step 5: Click the link Remove near the old email address and save changes.

Step 6: Change your name as you wanted.

Step 7: Save changes! Done!

Note one! After every change you have to click Save Changes and enter every time the password.

Note two! Never put your desired name while still having the old email address, it will save that and still won’t let you change your name with the new one even after changing the email address.

Note three! It seems that this method doesn’t work if you’ve reached the name change limit.
